Vintage-style subway tiles and floor mosaics – both popular in the early 1900’s - create an appropriate setting befitting the original claw foot tub, pedestal sink and faucets. Green and gold accents punch up the classic black and white color scheme. The upper walls and ceiling have been skillfully completed in gradations of gold. An upholstered chair has been fitted with a trimmed slipcover repeating motifs found in the tile. A side table keeps bathing necessities close at hand.
Reminiscent of the vintage sailing yachts from the 30’s and 40’s, this nautically-themed bedroom takes its color direction from the prominent stained glass window. A soft two-toned yellow striped wallcovering sets the background for fabrics in mossy green, yellow, cream, with red accents and a mix of old and new.

The centerpiece of the room is the windowed turret and handsome, antique-in-appearance ‘sleeping berth,’ which is actually a club sofa, newly constructed in walnut solids and walnut veneers with bronze patina brass details and bun feet. Crisp and classic banded bedcoverings play against a variety of paisley-print decorative pillows. The windows are fitted with banded canvas Roman shades. A pair of unusual adjustable wall lamps with pleated silk shades and hand-rubbed antique brass finish completes the setting and highlights the details of the French ship model.
The sun-soaked colors of Provence sizzle with contrast in this petite guest bath. The amiable combination of sunflower yellow, cobalt blue, terra cotta and mossy green is articulated in the overlaying fabric patterns and ceramic accents and play against toile covered walls and ceiling. The sweeping drapery treatment over window and complementary sink skirt accompanies a trumeau mirror featuring hand-painted tiles.
A little-used family room closet within easy reach of the kitchen was converted to a beverage center for morning coffee or an evening cocktail.
