Marilyn Akins Interiors has been in the business of creating beautiful and timeless interior design for the discerning and quality conscious client for over 40 years. Akins is a leader of excellence in luxury design with an unparalled level of service and dedication to the clients she serves. "Our clients' positive experience through the design process is as important to us as the design itself". Akins works as a team with her daughter, Shary Akins. Their work includes an incredible sensitivity to color, texture, and fine craftsmanship.
Marilyn is a graduate of Harrington Institute of Interior Design in Chicago and the pair also expand their design knowledge via frequent design study tours throughout Europe and Asia. They apply a keen understanding and appreciation of historic, period and cultural design to creative concepts that have been featured in many of the most widely recognized decorating magazines. In addition their designs have been selected for 18 designer showcase houses.
