Michelle Rohrer-Lauer has more than twenty-five years of experience in design. As a lifelong resident of Chicago’s northern suburbs, she understands the unique regional style and metropolitan personality that makes Chicago one of the world’s best places for art, architecture and creative endeavors of all types.
After beginning her career with Porters of Racine, Michelle spent more than a decade running her upscale baby and juvenile furniture boutique specializing in custom bedding, furniture and window treatments.
In 1996 Michelle devoted herself full-time to serving the residential design needs of discriminating clients throughout Chicago. Since that time, Michelle’s Interiors, Ltd. has earned the distinction of being one of the region’s premiere design firms.
Michelle has the ability to create a world of dreams for clients that they never would have imagined. Her ultimate goal is to design the home for the particular client, not the neighbors, friends or family but what is functional and unique for each family.
Michelle’s work has been featured in the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune, Daily Herald, Better Homes and Gardens, and Bedroom and Bath magazines. She was also a consultant for the book The Smart Approach to Kids’ Rooms .

Our Process
We customize our process for every job, but there are some things that never change. At the beginning, we’ll meet with you to discuss what you’re looking for and spend time asking questions so we can really understand your needs. Then we’ll come up with a plan that accomplishes your objectives and fits within your budget.
We’ll meet with you throughout the process to decide on materials and finishes, and of course keep you updated so there aren’t any surprises along the way. And we’ll always take care of every detail. We don’t consider the job completed until every last piece is in place. Our customers know they can trust us to do each job to our very high standards—that means the world to us.
