Illinois Celebrates 80 Years…Are You Fully Engaged?
It has been an amazing privilege to serve as the President Elect of the ASID Illinois Chapter for the 2010-2011 fiscal year. As I cross the threshold into the Illinois Chapter Presidency, I bring with me the Chapter Board and leaders who have a contagious enthusiasm and passion for making a difference for you, the member and future of the Illinois Chapter.
Together, we have crafted a Strategic Plan that is progressive and durable and a values package the Chapter is proud to be guided and measured by. The ASID Illinois Chapter exists to be an indispensable and highly effective resource for its members. The Chapter’s three year vision is to have fully engaged members who are valued as premiere Interior Design Professionals, who are part of ASID, the finest interior design association. As a Board, we are committed to addressing the number one request of the membership this year – educating the public of the distinction of an ASID interior design professional. I need your commitment, as a vital member of this organization, to be involved in order to make a delible impact in this strategic objective and the future of the Chapter.
The very rich history of leadership in Illinois is impressive, dating back an amazing 80 Years. Interior designers became leaders as they created an Illinois charter in 1931, forming what was soon to become the American Society of Interior Designers. These interior designers have given us 80 years of interior design legacy. Now, I call on each of you to write your legacy this quarter, making a difference together in our Chapter’s bold strategic plans. These are vital areas that need your support: Communications, Community Service, Design Awards, Industry Partner Resource, Membership, Party Planning, Right to Practice, Small Business Resource, Social Media, Sponsorship, Students. A very special thank you to the 2011-2012 ASID Illinois Chapter Board and leaders who are dedicated to excellence and making a difference in our industry. I am thrilled to be working with such impressive leaders. Thank you to Past Presidents Hilary Sopata and Joan Kaufman, and President Michelle Banks-Watt who have empowered us to serve the ASID Illinois Chapter.
